Pet Microchipping
A microchipped pet is a safe pet.
We offer microchipping for both dogs and cats, a simple step that can make a lifelong difference. Once microchipped, your pet has a much greater chance of being reunited with your family if they ever become lost, giving pet owners added peace of mind.
What is a microchip?
A microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is placed just beneath the skin between your pet’s shoulder blades. Once implanted, it remains in place long-term. The procedure is quick, safe, and very similar to receiving a routine vaccination, most pets tolerate it extremely well.
How does microchip identification work?
Each microchip contains a unique identification number. After implantation, you register the number with the microchip company and your contact information is then securely linked to your pet.
If your pet is ever found, most veterinary clinics and animal shelters can scan for a microchip. The scanner reveals the identification number, allowing the microchip company to contact you directly and let you know where your pet is waiting to be reunited with you.
Does my pet really need a microchip?
We strongly recommend microchipping. An estimated 1 in 3 pets will become lost at some point in their lifetime, and without identification, many never make it back home. Microchips dramatically improve the chances of a safe return, especially since nearly all shelters and veterinary clinics now routinely scan for them.
Microchipping is a small step that provides lasting protection and a powerful layer of security for the pet you love.
